Terrell Garrett

Terrell Garrett is a co-owner of Thunderbird Drop Box. He grew up around his family’s farm and multi-million dollar grain elevator business in New Mexico, gaining skills with machines that sort material. 

As a young man, Terrell redeveloped buildings and homes in Portland. By the 1990’s he ran a small garbage company and sold it to create GreenWay Recycling in NW Portland. 

GreenWay initially reloaded yard debris, later expanding to process construction and demolition waste, now boasting the highest recovery rates in the region. The material recovery facility underwent a $7 million rebuild during the pandemic. In 2024 GreenWay was awarded the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association’s national Recycler of the Year. 

Terrell and his wife Chris have three daughters and two grandchildren.
